Configuring Domain LOOKUP as CommitCRM Online Service?

    Hi Folks!

We are trying to configure an WHO IS domain look up as Online Service in CommitCRM (we are using Ver 5.1.0.1), using Network Solutions' DB/Site (which doesn't require filling in a - and haven't been able to get it to work right, using the following Properties

    Name: [Whatever:-)!]
    Data Source: Accounts
    Base URL: http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp
    URL Parameters: ?queryString=<CMTLBLDATA_FLDCRDURL1>

What should we be using as the URL parameters/anyone gotten this to work? Grateful for assistance!

(We checked the forum posts to date on this and found one old post pointing to a now Paid service.)

    TIA!

Re: Configuring Domain LOOKUP as CommitCRM Online Service?

    David,

I would suggest using a WHOIS search that is not a registrar. Try the following:

    Name: DomainTools WHOIS (Web 1)
    Data Source: Accounts
    Base URL: http://whois.domaintools.com/
    URL Paramaters: <CMTLBLDATA_FLDCRDURL1>

    Hope this helps!

Re: Configuring Domain LOOKUP as CommitCRM Online Service?

      Thanx AJ!

Still not working quite right for us, with THIS lookup site.

Is there a parameter VALUE that the CommitCRM field must be set to be equal to, eg.
      whois=<CMTLBLDATA_FLDCRDURL1>

Tinkered a bit just now, looked at source code for enquiry page, but didn't jump out at me:-)! so grateful for last missing piece.

      TIA!

Re: Configuring Domain LOOKUP as RangerMSP Online Service?

        David,

The <CMTLBLDATA_FLDCRDURL1> parameter will automatically be replaced with the Web address (URL) of the selected Account when the online service is activated (The Web field found under the Account Address tab).

What site are you trying to use with this Online Service? does it know how to handle external parameters?

        Thanks,
        Dina

          Thanx AJ and Dina!

The Online Service is now WORKING - as you specified AJ. Shutting down and restarting CommitCRM got it working. Basic troubleshooting step:-)!.

          Best!
