    Custom Reports

Many of us using CommitCRM customise a report or two to suit our specific needs. As many will know the custom reports can be exported (saved to file).

Would the CommitCRM 'community' see value from having a repository where us 'members' can can share these reports?

    My vote is (obviously) yes.

Given enough support for this idea would CommitCRM Support be able to make such a repository available?

    Re: Custom Reports

    Hi Paul,

    Thank you for this post.

We think that having a community supported report repository is a great idea. However, there are some reservations to be addressed before we can implement this operation, such as:

    1. Each report template exported to a file can only be opened by a client with the same version of RangerMSP. So, not everybody will be able to use a report downloaded from such a repository.

    2. Each exported report must be placed back in the same category, and be called by the exact same name.

And also some other technical issues which need to be resolved...

We will be implementing this request in the future, we just need to figure out the logistics first.

    Thanks for your feedback.

      Re: Custom Reports

Just a quick update - Starting with RangerMSP version 5.4, you can now easily share customized Reports, Activity Templates, Online Services and Email Templates in the new Community Sharing Center.

Each of these objects can be exported to a file, and uploaded to a dedicated community sharing forum. You can then download the file and import the customized object into your own RangerMSP system.

This can save you a tremendous amount of time as you can take advantage of a lot of work already invested by other users creating templates and customizations which may be very well-suited for your needs. You can also use the imported object as a starting point and further customize it to your specific requirements.
