    Document Mapping

Basic Question. I am looking for a way, or to see if it is possible, once you copy a document into CommitCRM under Accounts to get them to show up in the directory with their proper name (what you chose when creating the document) Or the original file name if you dragged it intoCommitCRM. It appears to file them sequentially using its own naming system in the chosen directory. (C10, C11, C12 etc...)

    Re: Document Mapping

    Hi Jason,

You can set the system to ask you for the filename every time a new document is added.
This is configured under the Tools > Options > Docs tab - select the "User selects file name every time" option.

However, I'm not sure whether it's the best practice as it adds lots of "trouble" to the user that is now being asked for the file name each time. You hardly ever look at the folder itself when using RangerMSP. You look at the Docs tab and see nice names and descriptions, you don't need to care much about the file name itself, though, as mentioned, you can configure to system to allow this.

Besides, when drag/drop a document it does indeed copy it. However, when the New Document window opens, the second field from the top let you select whether you actually want to copy the document or just Link to it. If you select Link to File then the file remains in the folder, not copied, the original file name remains, and RangerMSP will still show it as a Document.

    Hope this helps.
