    non-actvie contacts --

is there a way to deactivate or hide contacts that are no longer current? given that we are now required to add all employees that communicate through the email connector to the account, it's starting to get cluttered up with names that are no longer active (as employees leave companies...).

    thanks --

    ray,

First you do not necessary need to add all of your clients employees to the system (though it's always nice).
The email connector can use a catch all rule instead, this will covert any email message that comes from the domain name of your client (...@clientdomain.com) into a service Ticket in RangerMSP. For this a a secondary contact and set its email address to clientdomain.com (without the @). Done.

Besides, secondary contacts are linked to Tickets, Assets, Charges, History Notes and more and thus we do not recommend deleting them (though it's possible).
What you may do is rename their Contact name to start with ZZZ. For example, change "Loren" to "zzz Loren", this way all inactive contacts will appear at the end of the list and in order to select them you really need to actually want to do it.

(Update from RangerMSP Team: Starting with version 6.0 Secondary Contacts can be marked as Not-Active and hidden from the Contacts selection lists.)

I get the catch all but because the system doesn't automatically enter all the additional names in the CC and To fields (a serious problem!), we need to manually go back and add those recipients to the email recipients list... the fastest way to do this is to already have them in the system as a contact so that we can select them instead of typing or cut/paste...

don't want to delete... just want to hide or make them inactive so they don't show up in the lists. Accounts can be made inactive and we can filter on those... the "zzz" option would kind of work but isn't ideal.
