MSP's and using 3rd party Invoicing

We are looking into commit, and would like to know how existing CommitCRM customers work billing their customers, that DO NOT use the Quickbooks integration

We will definitely not be using Quickbooks! and currently use freshbooks and xero.

We are a MSP and bill per device for a large chunk of our client base, but do also provide ad-hoc break/fix services and block hour contracts. The contracts module is clearly lacking as far as MSP contracts go.
Block of time contracts for MSP use seems to be a feeble fix to make CommitCRM appear to be MSP friendly.

Any MSP's out there that use CommitCRM, do you use the contracts module, or just manage the contracts manually ?

I'd love to hear from anyone who has any input.

Hi shawnsmith, thank you for posting this.

    Freshbooks / Xero:
Unfortunately at this time we do not offer a direct link with these systems.
As you have just mentioned, we do offer a direct two way integration with QuickBooks.

To use RangerMSP with other accounting systems you may use some of the importing/exporting features found in RangerMSP, or our APIs.

Click here to read an article on how to use RangerMSP with other accounting systems.

    MSP Contracts
RangerMSP does support MSP contracts billing, all as part of the way Contracts are priced and charged.

To better understand how it all works you should first learn more about all of the different billing related aspects including Charges, Items, Custom Pricing, Contract pricing, etc. All can be accessed from the different resources found here.

In specific you should review the Billing for Contracts guide. In short, you should list the MSP services you provide and charge your customer for as Price-Charges under the Contract (Servers being monitored, PCs being monitored, etc.).

    I hope this helps.

    Dina

Re: MSP's and using 3rd party Invoicing

Invoicing is one of the biggest lacking features. We have not found a suitable way of merging CommitCRM's with an accounting system we like.

QuickBooks is OK, but doesn't scale as we add additional retail locations.
