when trying to disable an employee from interlink, we click the green bar and it turns grey (disables) but it doesnt actually disable them...

The best way to do this is to inactivate the employee in CommitCRM. They drop off the list in interlink but if you need to add them back in the future you can just re-enable them and all of their old permissions will still be there.

that worked, but they are still listed in our directory at the bottom of interlink.

They will still show in the directory at the bottom of the page until you go to a new page or refresh the current page. There are also some fixes for the "Employee Manager" in the latest patch which is available here:
