    restricting web interface access --

is there a way to restrict a web user account to just see tickets (read only) and nothing else?

We're not sure whether you refer to employee users or customer ones.

    In any case -

Employees get access to anything they can access in the Windows client with one exception - when they are configured as sub-contractors - in this case they use the Web interface solely and are more restricted.

Customer Web users are allowed to do/see only the items included in their Customer Privileges Group, as assigned to them when their Web user is configured.

    Hope this helps.

OK -- so digging into this more, the customer privileges group stuff is different than what is in the documentation. That said, it looks like a bit of granularity has been added (that's good!).

Couple of immediat observations... when we assing nothing (which should then allow the client to just view tickets, which is pretty much what we want to limit them to) we have discovered a couple of imiportant missing items:
      1) Priority
      2) Due Date
      3) Status Extension
      4) Contract (the field is listed but is blank)

      Thanks!

There is actually a field there in the privileges list to enable Contract Status View. As for the other items, indeed they are not available at the moment so thanks for the suggestion, we'll take note of that.
