Change docs file directly after server move

We moved from Server 2008 to 2012. The instructions on the wiki were wonderful and worked great so thank you.

Now we have the issue with of all the client documents. They are all set with the old path.

I know I can change it manually in the details tab, but how do we change them all at once to reflect the path on the new server?

Re: Change docs file directly after server move

Sure, there's a utility that does just this and batch update everything for you. Please take a backup before running it as it updates in batch... Check it out [url=mp=/wiki/KB:_Changing_Documents_Folder_Path]here[/urlmp].

    Hope this helps.

Does this also update the path for the old stored documents?

        Yes it does :-)

A reminder - please take a backup as there is no 'undo' and in one click it updates your entire database!

          nattivillin-

we have all the add-ons installed / sql / web / etc- were you able to move your entire infrastructure using a documented process? Im a little leery of trying to get the whole system up on a 2012 server from our current box since it is live- any pointers for the move?

In case you'll follow the instructions carefully all should be good and you should be up and running in a short while.

Note about server 2012: In case you use RangerMSP on top of SQL, the SQL version should not be a version prior to 11.

In case you have any specific licensing question - please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

            Thanks!
