Link an outlook account to CommitCRM 6.1

We have CommitCRM 6.1, and we have a mailbox that users send service request too.
at the minute, we manually log the calls in to the CommitCRM system.

can you advise, on the steps required to link a mailbox?

Would we need to clear down the original mailbox if we link it? to avoid duplicates?

You should configure the Email Connector (setup guide), this module converts incoming emails into service tickets automatically.

Before starting - you do need to empty the mailbox and only have the email connector pop emails from it, this way it won't create duplicate tickets for old emails sent to you.

How can i tell, which server is running CommitCRM? is there a service that runs on a server, or can i get the info from the front end somewhere?

You can check the exact path of RangerMSP database location by reviewing properties of RangerMSP desktop shortcut on any of the client PCs on your network.

Final question, to update from 6.1 to 8, are we required to run the update on the server where the database is located, or can we run it from the clients PC?

It doesn't matter where you run upgrade from. When running directly on the server it may work faster. Note that you only need to run the upgrade once and all network clients will be upgraded automatically.
