Customizing fields

Is it possible when adding a linked object field to make assets the only selectable item? like have linked asset field instead of linked objects?

The Linked Object field is a special flexible field which allows you to select between Ticket, Asset, Opportunity and Contract. This is a generic field, and it cannot be 'locked' for assets only.
