Access Privilege - clearance levels for Documents access

    Greetings,
We would like to be able to attach confidential restricted-access Documents to Employees and Accounts withinCommitCRM. Within the Access Privilege setup there is one category for Documents (and then of course the 3 clearance levels of View/Edit/Delete). Is there another way to restrict access to Documents, ideally by category? We set up a Web Interface user for an Employee and when testing that web interface access, we noted that a search on the Documents tab with no text in the search field and selecting [All] and clicking Find resulted in a list of Documents including access to test Documents which we had attached to an Employee (hoping that attachments to Employee would have restricted access - but they did not).
Is there a way to define Access Privilege to Documents by Document Category?
    Thank you.
    Best regards,

Re: Access Privilege - clearance levels for Documents access

    Hi Lisa,

What you can do is keep private/sensitive documents under a privileged folder on your disk. Each document in RangerMSP is linked to a physical file on your disk. You can determine whether the file will be copied to the docs folder defined in the system, or leave the file in its original location.

You can store restricted files in a restricted folder, and point to this file from RangerMSP's document, in its original location. This way, unprivileged users will not be able to actually open these files.

Note that you can also restrict access to specific folders and deny downloads for them from the Web Interface, to protect sensitive files. You can find more information on this in the Web Interface setup guide.

    I hope this helps.
