    Default setting in Assets and Tickets

    Greetings,

    When creating a new Asset, we’d like to *not* have the “Purchased From Us” box selected by default. Is there a way to change that default?

    Also in new Tickets, we’d like to *not* have 30 minutes default as the “Estimated Duration Needed”. Is there a way to change that default setting?

    Hi Lisa,

    RangerMSP allows you to set default values to fields which have pull-down menu values list. In these fields you can set the default value from the list and it will be used for new records. In other fields, such as check-boxes and the duration field, which is a numeric value, there is no way for a user to set a default value at the moment. I do recall another request to allow setting a default value for more fields types, such as the estimated duration field, and I believe we may enhance the flexibility for these in the future.       Quick update:

      RangerMSP 5.5 was released and includes the ability to change the default value for the estimated work duration field for new Tickets, as requested above.

      The default value for the Ticket Estimated Work Duration is managed from Tools > Options > Tickets (Admin), and can be modified only by system administrators.
