Introduction

The CommitCRM Wiki site is a great source for CommitCRM Documentation, User Guides, FAQ's, and Troubleshooters. In addition to all the literature available in the Wiki, the Wiki Search field offers the easiest method for finding the relevant articles you're looking for.

Using most Web browsers today, you can integrate the CommitCRM Wiki search right into your browsers search bar. This article discusses how to integrate the Commit Wiki Search field into your own browser, so that you can easily find the CommitCRM literature that you need at the fastest way.

Google Chrome

The Google Chrome Browser has the ability to configure website search fields to be accessed from the Chrome Address Bar. In order to configure the CommitCRM Wiki Search field into your Chrome Browser, please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you're using the latest release of Chrome using the Chrome Configuration menu > About Google Chrome.
  2. Right Click Chrome Address Bar.
  3. Choose Edit Search Engines.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Type a Name for your search engine (CommitCRM Wiki)
  6. Choose a keyword for the search engine. (Used later on to toggle this search engine)
  7. Add the following URL:
http://www.CommitCRMcrm.com/w/index.php?title=Special:Search&search=%s&go=Go
  1. Verify that all 3 parameter fields show a green checkbox next to them.
  2. Click OK to save your search engine and close the Search Engines Manager in Chrome.

Once this has been done, you can type the keyword you've set into your address bar (i.e. "ccrm" if you used the settings displayed in the above screenshot), and press the Tab button once in order to transform the Google Chrome Address Bar into the CommitCRM Wiki Search field.
