    Better Web Tools

    Hi There!

We know about the web ui for CommitCRM, but we find that our engineers don't use it as it's too clumsy and not fast enough. For it to be mobile friendly I think we would want it to be more like an app, or at least bigger easier to click links and buttons etc. Simplified. We want to be able to look up a customers details, enter a ticket or add time to a ticket.
Wondering if a review or enhancements for touch are coming soon?

    Re: Better Web Tools

The background stuff is there though so perhaps a new mobile friendly intuitive graphical front end...? (also, needs Webified LIVE BOARD so we can cast it..) and TOUCH support for authorization to PASSWORDS. and scroll by day for charge records with frozen AUTO SUM ROW at the bottom...

@networkn @stephan - Thank you for sharing your ideas and suggestions.

@networkn - Quick question, just to make sure you utilize things that already exist to their full potential - Did you try using the 'Actions' menu (available while viewing an Account/Ticket/etc. record details)? Using it usually saves many clicks though the dropdown can easily be overlooked. In addition, the Ticket details page contains a separate 'Quick Charge' button to save some additional clicks.

      Thanks again for your input.

        Re: Better Web Tools

        Hi.

        Thanks, that was helpful.

        Enhancement suggestions:

Online Services (Or at least google maps) should be 1 click from any page where it might be useful. Tickets, account lookups etc.

Also, the delay on pressing the google maps integration, is significant, maybe 10 seconds or more, and it opens in a web page, rather than google maps, and if you click directions, it opens google maps, without the address populated.

Be able to have a quick ticket button which significantly reduces the amount of information on the screen to what is essential. If people want to edit it, then they can add additional field information later. Ideally, we want someone to open a ticket in a few moments and add time in a few moments more. Same with an easy way to add miles or travel/expenses related charges.

Thanks for suggesting, good news - direct links to Google maps are coming, beyond the existing Online Services for Google Maps, will be included in the coming new version. Stay tuned!

(Update from RangerMSP Team: the Google® Maps were embedded in various places within the client app and the Web app in version 18.)

            Re: Better Web Tools

Safe to assume most of us would love to have a better functioning CommitCRM when working on our phones/tablets. Having a true app would be me preference but if a web interface can be clean, functional and fast that would be fine too. Right now I'd be will to bet that most techs completely skip using CommitCRM when they are out in the field and try to put things into the system as best as possible when they return. This obviously is not efficient and can increase revenue losses due to hours or parts not being properly added to tickets.
