Server remote app issue after recent upgrade

The latest upgrade to ranger broke the web app. All other web apps work (Outlook, Adobe, and Excel.)

When trying to launch ranger as a remote app the error says something like "Program failed to start on remote computer"

    How can we fix this?

Re: Server remote app issue after recent upgrade

    Thank you for posting this.

We suspect that this error is entirely external to RangerMSP and might be related to using the remote services.

While Googling for this error, we noticed that adding the program to the DEP exceptions may help solving this.

You may try this solution or review other possible solutions.

    Hope this helps.

Re: Server remote app issue after recent upgrade

We've been using Microsoft web apps on this server and the last server with Commit CRM for 8+ years.

As soon as we upgrade ranger a few weeks ago it stops working (all other remote app still work) but the issue is external to ranger?

      Figures.

Re: Server remote app issue after recent upgrade

The upgrade program only replaces a few files under the app folder, nothing else is changed beyond the scope of the app. It also performs database changes that are again in the scope of the app. So while it does indeed feel suspicious we're doubtful that they are related events or that the upgrade affected it. In any case, please let us know your findings. Thanks.

Hi guys, did this get resolved? Is there any news of others having this issue? We are looking to upgrade but with everyone now using a RemoteApp I want to make sure it works correctly.

Re: Server remote app issue after recent upgrade

DEP is/was set to "essential windows programs and services only". This is the default for most of our terminal servers. Causes more problems than it prevents.

Things stopped working IMMEDIATELY after the ranger upgrade. All other existing webapps still work. We can even add new webapps and they work.
