    Global edit feature for accounts

Is there a global edit feature to change the account manager if an employee’s services are terminated?

Re: Global edit feature for accounts

Yes, you can use the "batch update" options for accounts. This feature allows you to update a group of accounts at once. This is very helpful in various cases.

For example, when you wish to change the account manager to a new employee. Using the batch update, you can display all the accounts which are currently managed by a specific employee, and update the Manager to the new employee at once for all of these accounts.

To perform this example, you should take notice of the following:

    1. It is always advisable to backup before performing batch updates. When no one is using RangerMSP, backup the \Db and \DbSys folders

    2. In the account window, filter the list to display only the relevant accounts (you can use the Filter button and filter the accounts by the current Account Manager).

    3. Make sure the list is displaying only the accounts you actually want to update.

    4. Go to the Accounts menu > Tools > Batch Update.

    5. In the field name select 'Accounts: Account Manager' Equals > the new employee name.

    6. Click 'Start Update'.

This will update all the accounts which appear in the list. Make sure you filter it properly before you perform this change.
